Thank you to everyone who donated coats for Kentucky Refugee Ministries. The Social Responsibility Committee collected more than 40 coats (200% of our goal) from our congregation, which will be distributed to newly arriving refugees. What a warm welcome to the USA.

CRITICAL JOB SEARCH:  Kentucky Refugee Ministries appeals to our congregation to help with job search. They have a large backlog of refugees needing entry level jobs. More than anyone in this economy, refugees have trouble finding jobs, and they are particularly vulnerable as their government benefits expire within about 4 months of arrival. Our own TJ sponsored family is no exception. Please, do you have any tips? Call Kathi Peterson at 432-2724

Community-Wide Clean-up Report

Many thanks to the green team of Social Justice Committee members who collected trash on November 7 at the corner of Westport Rd and Accomack Dr. We are so appreciative of your commitment to a clean community and for representing TJ in such a positive light! Our team included Joanmarie McGuire, Henry Austin, Kathi Peterson and friend, and Jon Henney.

Coming of Age is a rite of passage for youth approximately 14-16 years of age. This voluntary program formally recognizes and celebrates the passage of young Unitarian Universalists into adolescence. It is intended as a fun and in-depth way for youth to explore their identities and spiritual beliefs with adult mentors and/or with a small group. Each youth is paired with an adult mentor from the TJ community who accompanies them on their path of self discovery. Please speak with our Director of Religious Education, Barb, for more information.
